First Golf Outing

Our little man never ceases to amaze us. One thing we have never had trouble finding is a good babysitter. We were stunned when we discovered a weekend where there were no family babysitters around to take care of our little guy so we could play in a golf tournament. Most people would think we were crazy to consider bringing him along. But, bring him along we did... Even I thought there would be no way he would last through 18 holes of golf and still have a smile on his face. I will offer some words of advice though. Do not even consider taking a toddler golfing without at least 4 different kinds of snacks and many cold beverages. Snacks fix everything.

Parent Tot Swimming Lessons

I am so glad I signed Sawyer up for the Parent Tot swim class offered through the rec center. Steve and I switched off swimming with him each week day for the two weeks it was offered. About half of the time it was too cold to swim outside so we got to try out the indoor pool too. Sawyer is turning out to be quite the fish!

Ready! Set! Goooooooo!

Back float...not Sawyer's favorite pool activity!

Family fun in Decorah

Whippy Dip! Whippy Dip!
Don't worry we didn't spoil our dinners. We still cleaned our plates at T-Bocks after feeding the fish at the hatchery.

We had a great time in Decorah visiting Kim and Stoney and had lots of family fun hitting our favorite spots in D-town. Wednesday we had breakfast at T-Bocks where we left Sawyers cutest sippy cup, not to be discovered until later. Argh! Then we wandered downtown, stopping at the Decorah Chick Hatchery to visit the baby chicks. Yes, there is a distinct theme of eating at T-Bocks and hatching young so far in our trip.

Last stop... Dunnings Spring for some more photos.
Oops...that one was a little off...let's try again!

New Furniture!

I wasn't going to do this... But I can't help it. I was raised that you cannot truly love an object, you can only love people. I know that is true and I also know that I will not always be as charmed by this as I am right now. I will not always stop and stare. But honestly, look at the pictures, it is a perfect fit. I could actually feel my pupils widening in admiration as it was moved into place but that may have been the margaritas helping me along the way...

Independence Day!

We made a short drive to Tiffin to join friends at the Pfeiffer house for the 4th. We had burgers and enjoyed the lawn even though it was a bit chilly...for July! I was underprepared and Sawyer had to borrow Sydney's jacket. He is too young to be scared by that anyway. I so wish this picture weren't blurry. I think it is precious how Sawyer and Leila are making the same awe-stricken face!

First trip to the Pool!

I really wasn't sure how this trip to the pool was going to go. Sawyer loves bathtime but this is the ultimate, potentially scary bathtub! Thanks to Steve's sister Brooke who came along and splashed with us. Thank goodness for the extra eyes! Our little guy can be a bit fearless and all it takes is one second for him to get himself into a mess.
Taking in the scenery...

He didn't act like he was ready to get out aside from his chattering teeth! He was content to be bundled up in his towel in the shade for a bit.

Goldfish crackers make a great appetizer to post pool ice cream! DQ... here we come!
